Victorian Black & Copper Luster, Enameled Red Ware Tea Set. English.
Rare Victorian black and copper luster on red stoneware tea set from England C.1860.
This spectacular 5 piece tea set includes a teapot with lid and stand, creamer and sugar bowl.
It features hand enameled pink flowers with blue leaves that really stands out on the black background. The fluting and edges are also accented with copper luster.
There are 2 small chips on the top opening of the teapot probably from taking the lid on and off which is only normal in teapots, especially this old. There is also a chip on one leg of the stand. There is minor wear to the copper luster mainly around the top edges.
The over all condition of this old tea set is remarkable for it's age. The colors are still very vibrant and there are no cracks or repairs. It is very clean and could totally be used. What a way to impress your tea time guests.
