Return & Refund Policy

In-Store Purchases

All sales made at our Cary showroom are final. As antiques are unique, pre-owned pieces sold in their existing condition, we encourage customers to inspect each item carefully, review its condition, and confirm all measurements before completing their purchase.

Once an item has been inspected, purchased, and removed from the showroom, it cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged.

This policy does not limit any rights that cannot legally be excluded, including circumstances in which an item has been materially misrepresented.

Shipped Purchases

We understand that purchasing an antique without seeing it in person requires confidence and trust. If you wish to return a shipped item, you must contact Streets of London Antiques within seven calendar days of the recorded delivery date to request return authorization.

Returns will not be accepted without prior written approval.

Once a return has been authorized, the item must be collected by or handed over to the approved carrier within fourteen calendar days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying all return shipping costs. The item must be returned using the same level of carrier service and the same type of professional packaging or protective wrapping used for the original delivery. We reserve the right to approve the return carrier and shipping arrangements before the item is collected.

Original shipping and delivery charges are non-refundable.

Approved returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee, which will be deducted from the refund.

Condition of Returned Items

Returned items must arrive in the same condition in which they were delivered. Once an item has been received, it will be carefully inspected before a refund is issued.

If an item shows new damage, alterations, improper handling, missing components, or any other change in condition that occurred after delivery, the refund may be reduced to reflect the resulting loss in value or reasonable repair costs.

If an item has been materially damaged or altered after delivery, the return may be refused.

Once the inspection has been completed, any approved refund will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to process and post the refund to your account.

Shopify processes refunds through the original payment method, so refunds generally cannot be redirected to a different card or account.

Items Damaged in Transit

The 20% restocking fee and buyer-paid return shipping do not apply when an item arrives damaged in transit.

Please inspect the item carefully at the time of delivery. Any visible transit damage must be clearly noted on the Bill of Lading or delivery receipt before it is signed. Signing the delivery documentation without noting visible damage may affect the ability to submit a claim with the carrier.

Shipping damage must also be reported to Streets of London Antiques within 48 hours of delivery. Please provide clear photographs of:

  • the complete item;
  • the damaged area;
  • the packaging or protective wrapping; and
  • any visible damage to the packaging or delivery materials.

All packaging and delivery materials must be retained until the claim has been fully reviewed and resolved. Please do not discard, repair, alter, move unnecessarily, or return the item without first receiving instructions from us.

Our professional delivery carriers maintain cargo protection or liability coverage in accordance with their individual terms and may reserve the right to inspect or repair damage that occurred during transit.

Shipping damage is uncommon and is often minor. In many cases, it can be resolved directly with the carrier through professional repair or another appropriate remedy.

We will review the claim and work with the customer and carrier to determine the most appropriate resolution.
