A wonderful and authentic 18th century Continental coffer, handcrafted during a period when furniture was built to endure for generations. Condition
Good antique condition.
The coffer remains solid and structurally sound with age-appropriate wear consistent with over 250 years of use. It has developed a beautiful warm patina that only centuries of careful use can create. Expected surface wear, marks, shrinkage, and minor imperfections all contribute to its authentic antique character and charm.
There is evidence of historic woodworm, long since inactive, visible as small scattered pinholes that confirm the age and authenticity of the piece rather than detract from its structural integrity. Please refer to image #10 for an example.
