Antique 1920s Wicker-Covered Cedar Storage Chest with Bamboo Trim & Black Iron Handles

A charming antique 1920s wicker-covered cedar storage chest, featuring decorative bamboo trim, black iron carrying handles, and a wonderfully aged appearance that captures the rustic character of early 20th-century furniture.

This attractive vintage trunk combines the warmth of cedar with the natural texture of woven wicker, creating a distinctive piece that is both decorative and practical. Its simple rectangular form, low proportions, and contrasting materials give it a timeless appeal that works beautifully in a variety of interiors.

The exterior is covered in woven wicker, framed with bamboo trim that adds structure and visual interest. Black iron handles provide an attractive contrast to the natural materials while enhancing the chest's traditional utilitarian character.

The chest has developed a lovely aged patina over approximately a century of use. The wicker and bamboo display visible wear, breaks, and areas of loss, all contributing to its authentic old-world charm and wonderfully rustic appearance.

Inside, the cedar construction provides useful storage for blankets, linens, seasonal accessories, or other household belongings. Despite its age and visible exterior wear, the chest remains clean, solid, and sturdy.

Its versatile proportions make it particularly appealing for use as a decorative coffee table, a low storage chest at the foot of a bed, or an accent piece in an entryway. It would also make a charming addition to a country cottage, farmhouse, rustic, primitive, or bohemian-inspired interior.

A wonderfully characterful antique storage chest that brings together natural materials, practical storage, and the unmistakable charm of a well-loved piece of furniture.
