Antique Forged Iron Game & Meat Hanging Hook Rack

A wonderfully rustic antique forged iron game and meat hanging rack, originally designed as a practical working piece for suspending game, meat, or other provisions.

The rack features a large hanging hook at the top, four horizontal iron bars fitted with multiple meat hooks, and an additional decorative hook at the bottom. It was most likely used in a smokehouse, kitchen, or similar working environment for hanging game or meat.

Today, its sculptural form and wonderfully aged iron surface make it an unusual and functional piece of old-world kitchen décor. It would be perfect suspended in a farmhouse or country kitchen for hanging pots and pans, kitchen utensils, or bunches of drying herbs.

Two are currently available, as shown together in images #12 through #14. Price is for one rack.

 

Condition

Very good antique condition.

There is expected age-appropriate wear and areas of surface rust and oxidation throughout, all contributing to the authentic old-world character of the forged iron.
