Antique English Mahogany Green Marble Top Side Table, c.1830

A beautifully proportioned antique English mahogany square table dating to circa 1830, combining the restrained elegance of early 19th-century English furniture with a striking green marble top.

Crafted from rich, warm-toned mahogany, the table features a single drawer fitted with an ornate brass knob, providing discreet storage for small items or correspondence. Its square form, clean lines, and classic proportions give the piece a wonderfully understated appearance.

Originally designed as a washstand with a wooden top cut to accommodate a wash basin, the original top was replaced at some point during the table's long history with the current green marble top. The richly colored, finely veined marble creates a striking contrast against the warm patina of the mahogany and gives this early table an especially distinctive appearance.

The marble also makes the piece wonderfully versatile for modern use. At just 16" square, it has a remarkably small footprint while standing 31" tall, making it ideal as a side table, lamp table, bedside table, or decorative accent where space is limited.

Dating to the late Georgian period, this charming table combines more than two centuries of history with proportions that remain exceptionally useful today.

Condition

Very good antique condition.

The table is strong and sturdy with minimal age-appropriate wear, marks, and imperfections, all contributing to its authentic character and charm.

The green marble top is a later replacement and is not original to the table.
