Engraved Print After Henri-Jacques Bource "Sunday at Sea" in Original Frame

Sale price$895.00

A beautifully framed antique engraved print after Belgian artist Henri-Jacques Bource's "Sunday at Sea."

Henri-Jacques Bource (1826–1899) was an award-winning Belgian artist particularly known for his depictions of fishermen, their families, and everyday life in coastal communities. "Sunday at Sea" is one of his evocative maritime compositions, capturing the quieter human side of life at sea.

The engraving is presented in an impressive antique frame measuring nearly 33" across and retains its original glass. The substantial frame and maritime subject give the piece wonderful presence, making it particularly suited to a study, library, living room, or a collection of antique maritime art.

The original work dates to the 19th century, and this image was entered into the Library of Congress in 1884, adding an interesting historical connection to this handsome antique print.

Condition

Very good antique condition.

There is age-appropriate wear to the frame, but overall the piece is very well framed and presents beautifully.

The original glass has some pitting that can be seen under certain lighting conditions. There is also a tiny crack in the bottom left corner of the glass, as shown in image #9.

We have tried to show as much as possible in the photographs, so please zoom in and study them closely. Additional photographs are always available upon request.
