Antique Georgian Hand-Blown Cut Crystal Wine Glass, Early 19th Century

Sale price$45.00

An elegant and beautifully delicate antique Georgian wine glass, dating to the turn of the 19th century, featuring finely cut crystal and the wonderful characteristics of traditional hand-blown glassmaking.

This charming glass has graceful proportions and a dainty appearance, reflecting the refined simplicity and craftsmanship associated with Georgian-era glassware. Its delicate cut decoration catches the light beautifully, adding a subtle sparkle that enhances its timeless elegance.

Hand-blown glass from this period often displays small variations and imperfections that distinguish it from modern, machine-produced glass. This particular example has a visible air bubble within the base, along with slight irregularities from the original glassmaking process, providing lovely evidence of its handmade origins.

Remarkably well preserved for its considerable age, this beautiful glass would make a wonderful addition to a collection of Georgian drinking glasses, antique crystal, or early English tableware.

Whether displayed in a glass cabinet, incorporated into a collection of period stemware, or simply admired for its delicate craftsmanship, it offers a charming glimpse into the elegance of Georgian dining traditions.

Condition

Very good antique condition, particularly considering its age of approximately 200 years or more.

There are no chips or cracks, and the glass has clearly been very well cared for over the years.

Only very minor surface marks are present, less than might reasonably be expected for a piece of this age.

One air bubble is visible within the base, along with slight irregularities and imperfections resulting from the original hand-blown manufacturing process. These are characteristic of early handmade glass and contribute to its authenticity and charm.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description. Additional photographs are always available upon request.
