Vintage Hungarian Folk Art Hand-Painted Wooden Trinket Box

A sweet little vintage wooden trinket box with a hinged lid, beautifully hand painted with a colorful traditional Hungarian Folk Art design.

The small box is decorated with charming floral motifs characteristic of Hungarian folk decoration, giving it plenty of old-world character despite its petite size. The underside is marked "Hungary" and is also signed with what appears to be the artist's initials together with a production number.

The hinged lid still closes with a nice snug fit, and the hinges remain strong and secure. At just 3 3/4" wide, it is a delightful little box for storing rings, small jewelry, keepsakes, or other tiny treasures and is equally charming simply displayed as a piece of European Folk Art.
