Royal Vienna Portrait Plate “Lassitude” by Hutschenreuther, c.1900
An exquisite turn-of-the-century porcelain portrait plate produced by Hutschenreuther around 1900, featuring the celebrated image “Lassitude” after artist Angelo Asti and bearing the Wagner signature.
The central portrait depicts a young woman in softly rendered profile, with flowing hair, a serene expression, and a delicate romantic palette. The subtle shading and lifelike depth give the image an ethereal quality that beautifully reflects the Belle Époque taste for elegant portraiture and idealized beauty.
Surrounding the portrait is a lavish gilt border enriched with fine decorative detailing, pale blue raised enamel dots, and deep red medallions. The warm gold creates a striking contrast with the softness of the portrait and gives the plate a particularly opulent appearance.
The reverse bears the blue beehive shield, or Bindenschild, beneath the glaze, further adding to the decorative and collectible appeal of the piece.

Very good antique condition.
The plate has been very well cared for and shows only minimal age-appropriate wear. There are no chips or cracks.
