Antique Carved High Back Side Chair with Hoof Feet

A fantastic antique high back side chair featuring an exceptionally decorative carved back, distinctive carved hoof feet, and a rich dark-stained finish.

The tall 44 3/4" back gives the chair wonderful presence, with extensive carved detailing creating an impressive silhouette. The unusual hoof feet add further character and make this a particularly distinctive accent chair.

The seat has been reupholstered at some point in a rich red fabric. Although a later replacement, the upholstery complements the dark wood beautifully and remains clean, while the seat and padding are strong, supportive, and comfortable.

Good antique condition.

There is age-appropriate wear to the dark-stained finish, predominantly to the back of the chair and the legs, as shown in the photographs.

The red upholstery is a later replacement and remains clean. The seat and padding are strong, supportive, and comfortable.

Overall, this unique chair remains solid, strong, and sturdy with minor age-appropriate flaws.
