Crafted from dark-stained solid cherry, the frames have developed a warm, mellow patina that gives the chairs both richness and depth. Their oversized proportions, open arms, turned front legs, deep seats, and high backs create a strong architectural silhouette while still offering inviting comfort.

The upholstery is particularly striking, finished in a felted damask fabric in a warm orange-yellow palette that brings a lively, almost golden quality to the chairs. The classic pattern is softened by the texture of the fabric, creating a handsome contrast with the robust cherry frames.

Condition

Very good antique condition.

Both chairs are structurally sound, strong, and sturdy, with age-appropriate wear and imperfections throughout. There is some loss to the front underside of one arm, as shown in photograph #11

The upholstery remains attractive overall, with slight lightening to the fabric in some areas. Please note that one chair retains green brocade edging while the other does not.
