Pair of 19th Century Victorian Heavy Brass Candlesticks with Faceted Square Bases

An exceptional pair of antique 19th-century Victorian brass candlesticks, beautifully proportioned and crafted from heavy, substantial brass with elegantly turned stems, varied decorative knops, faceted diamond-form collars, and impressive stepped square bases.

These handsome candlesticks have a wonderful architectural quality, with the beautifully molded and turned stems creating an elegant silhouette. The decorative faceted collars add a particularly attractive detail, while the substantial square bases provide both visual presence and stability.

Each candlestick was cast with a hollow core to accommodate a candle push-up rod. Although the original push-up rods are no longer present, this does not affect their functionality as candlesticks.

The warm golden brass has developed a beautiful aged patina, giving the pair the character and depth that only comes with generations of use.

Equally at home on a formal dining table, mantel, console, or library desk, these elegant Victorian candlesticks would make a wonderful addition to a traditional interior or collection of antique brass.

Good antique condition with expected signs of age and use.

The brass displays an attractive aged patina with minor surface marks, scratches, dents, and other imperfections consistent with its considerable age.

The original candle push-up rods are no longer present, but this does not affect the candlesticks' functionality.
