English Lidded Tureen with Cobalt Blue & Gold Decoration, circa 1910
A beautiful large English lidded tureen dating to circa 1910, decorated with an elegant combination of rich cobalt blue, warm brown, and gold.
The white body features a distinctive repeating diamond, dot, and wheel pattern in brown, framed by a striking cobalt blue rim edged with gold. Decorative side handles are also highlighted with gold accents, giving the tureen a wonderfully refined appearance.
Generously proportioned at 14½" across the handles, this impressive piece would make a beautiful addition to a traditional table setting or could be displayed on a sideboard, dining table, or in a collection of English tableware.
With its unusual pattern, strong colors, and elegant proportions, it has plenty of decorative presence whether used for serving or simply enjoyed on display.
Condition
Excellent antique condition.
There is some age-appropriate wear to the gold trim, most noticeably on the handles. Otherwise, the tureen is remarkably well preserved with no chips, cracks, crazing, browning, or repairs.
