Large Tiffany-Style Slag Glass Fruit Motif Table Lamp by Miller Lamp Co.

A spectacular large Tiffany-style slag glass table lamp with a wonderfully colorful three-dimensional fruit motif and an impressive 21" diameter shade.

The substantial leaded glass shade is constructed from beautifully varied pieces of translucent and opaque slag glass in shades of sage green, pale blue, ivory, white, gray, amber, orange, and cobalt blue.

Around the lower border, the shade is decorated with charming three-dimensional fruit forms, including pears, apple or orange-colored fruit, and clusters of blue grapes. The combination of colorful glass and sculptural fruit elements gives the lamp wonderful character and makes it especially eye-catching when illuminated.

The shade is finished at the top with an unusual and particularly attractive crown-like finial design. Below, the substantial metal base has an elegantly elongated form with decorative detailing and a nicely aged appearance.

Two pull chains operate the bulbs separately, allowing either one or both lights to be illuminated depending on the desired level of light.

When lit, the glass really comes alive. The translucent sections glow beautifully and highlight the variation in color, texture, and individual pieces of glass throughout the shade. It is equally appealing when unlit, when the sculptural fruit and richly varied glass can be appreciated as a decorative object.

At 32" tall with a 21" diameter shade, this is a substantial statement lamp. It would work beautifully in a Victorian, Arts & Crafts, eclectic, traditional, or antique-inspired interior and would be especially striking on a library table, large side table, console, or bedside table.
